I was thinking about doing another chapter with a Cinderella after story, since it's the other way around there. But it seems like I was 1 year too late. Desu might not like it if you rape his DDL, so I put up some (working) mirrors for that chapter.

Heh, had I known that you were willing to translate the Cinderella story for free I'd have commissioned Desudesu another chapter of that book... I chose it because it was the one that departed the least from the original tale.
ReplyDeleteDo you plan to work on other stories by this author? I was thinking about commissioning some other chapter from "White and black"... The not-quite-unlike Little Women story seems tasty, it gives an interesting insight on how the March family women could maintain themselves while the father was at war.
I'm always a bit tickled when something I've looked at before is finally translated... and I didn't have to do any of the editing on it. Good on you.
ReplyDeleteI know you've occasionally done some collaboration with other editors like Kaya. Is this something that makes things easier for you? I have long periods of idleness between scripts so I'm curious.

ReplyDeleteWell, back when you did that commission I had done a total of ~5 manga, so don't beat yourself up about it :d. I don't like old men/father stories, and everything that's left in that book falls under that category, so I won't translate anything more from that book.

Naturally, taking away the whole editing bit makes it a lot easier for me. As long as it's a good editor and a good manga, I'm open for suggestions. I've written some lines about collaborations in the FAQ, in case you're interested.
