[Marked-two] Wanna Have A Night Battle?

For some reason, the artist decided to change his pen name from Maa-kun to Hideo (which saddens me, because the old name made me think of this Maa-kun). What's even more surprising is the fact that this doujin isn't about 2hus being gang raped, but instead, it's a rather sweet Shimakaze book.

Looking back and looking ahead...

Translation-wise, 2013 has been a busy year. Compared to 2012, during which I had less than 40 releases, that number in 2013 was close to 130 (only counting the two Sandwich sets as two releases). Looking back, I think this has been my most productive year ever--much thanks to all the people whom I've worked with.

However, for the same reason, it's been a fun year. For well over five years, I've been doing this because I enjoy translating. I really don't understand some other (mainly anime) groups where everyone act like entitled tsunderes who spend their free time doing something they hate. I can only assume it's an act, and ISHYGDDT.

2013 was also the year I got back into anime again after a very long break, as you can tell from the graph below (from Anime DB):

Since I've started doing a lot more doujins, many of the shows I pick up are for practical reasons rather than out of interest. Fortunately, unlike some people, I watch anime because I enjoy it, and I like pretty much all genres and shows, save perhaps ecchi--though ecchi shows tend to get a lot of doujins, so like a modern-day Jesus, I endure.

In 2014, I have some IRL stuff coming up that will most likely take up a lot of my free time, but that's still a few months away. Whatever happens, I'll probably still be here by this time next year too, writing up another release post and/or rant.

[Nakata Modem] Houkei Nama Ijiri Ch.01

01 - Summer Beach

Here's the first chapter of one of the three new books I've picked up! I'm doing this together with bfrost, who also commissioned the scan (courtesy of Lord of Evil).

The title translates to something like "Indifferent Phimosis Teasing," which sums it up pretty well. Most, if not all, chapters are about older girls/women who to some degree dominate or verbally abuse younger boys/men. Age-wise, I wouldn't consider this shota, since the guys appear to be around your typical h-manga age (i.e., high school), whereas the girls are in their twenties. Given the content of the book, the guys obviously aren't very masculine, so many of the situations are very "shota-esque."

The title kinda ruins the surprise, but this is a batch chapter. A guy working at a beach hut delivers an order to a voluptuous girl sunbathing at a secluded area of the beach.

... Yeah, it's one of those kind of stories again...

Male brothels has sprung up in Aincrad because... well, turns out MMORPG'ers love to tap boy ass I guess. Life's apparently tough in SAO, since even a front line clearer like Kirito is forced to work nights at a brothel.

However, doing so has turned him into a huge buttslut--or perhaps that's the reason he works there in the first place? Either way, Silica finds out about his secret occupation, and she's more than happy to lend a helping hand... along with other things.

Inactivity + Zelda titles rant

It's been a while since I made a post here. I haven't quit, but I'm taking a break from translating at the moment. I don't know when I'll be back in action again, but I have something that's like 90% done, so I'll probably release that sometime soon.

In celebration of the soon-to-be released new Zelda game, have a very long rant about Zelda titles and differences between the original Japanese and what we got.

Translation process - part 1

From time to time, I'm being asked about various steps of my translation process.
I thought it could be interesting to make it public for everyone to see. Also I have nothing new to release at the moment, so it's somewhat of a filler in disguise...

Whatever happened to YQ 1?

I'm going to be away from the weekend (i.e. now), so I scheduled this filler.

First off, I got a mail from Kaya and she said that she should be able to get back to editing in a couple of weeks, meaning new chapters of Ochiru Tenshi! Sorry for the long delay, the script for chapter 06 is and has been ready for a while, and Kaya starts with the editing on it as soon as possible.

Several people has been asking about the story behind the name "YQII", here it is:
