As the title says, recommend a tankoubon you would like to see translated!
I've kinda running out of books I'd like to do in the future, or rather, I haven't really looked for new books recently. Currently, four books are nearing completion, so I need to find a couple of new projects. I'm gonna look around myself, but I figured I might as well reach out and have a drive to see if I get any good suggestions.
Here are some guidelines:
Give me an exhentai link. This way I can easily flip through a couple of pages to see if it's something I like. My net sucks, so unless you're a scanner with something that's not publicly available, I'll probably ignore download links. I can't scan anything.
Keep it "vanilla." I prefer to translate sweet, funny stories. Multi-chapter stories are nice, but I don't really care for "one guy fucks every girl; ends with bangbang" stories. For some more specific themes, see this section of the FAQ.
This is the only rule I'm willing to bend a bit. For instance, Spermaniax and its prequel don't fit this description at all, but it's one of my favorite projects. Basically, if the story is interesting enough, I'd probably be up for anything. For oneshots, stick to vanilla.
Don't recommend something where several chapters are already translated. Preferably, none of the chapters should have been previously translated, but books like that are pretty rare nowadays if the artist is any good. I'm going to translate every chapter for consistency, so 1-3 already translated chapters is the most I can tolerate. Of course, the length of the chapter makes a difference; a 24-page chapter is worse than a 12-page chapter, and a four-page short is pretty much negligible.
Please look this up and include how many (if any) chapters are already translated when sending your recommendation! I don't read translations myself, and it's a pain having to look up old translations and see if they're from one particular book for 50 different books (like I did last time I picked a new project). If possible, link to the translated chapters.

Keep in mind that this is just for inspiration, and I can't say if/when I'll do any of the recommended books. However, it's worth noting that I had not heard of Dr.P before I got an email recommending his first book, and I've done every book since (I know I will do his new one when it's scanned, so no point recommending that one).

The last chapter just concluded the story (COMIC Tenma-wise), so a second tankoubon should come out soon. I really liked the MnR's first work, the LSD-induced Imako System, although it also ended in a way that might not sit well with most people (incest as a good end).

If you haven't read any Fuuga manga before, his work is usually pretty vanilla and usually has substantial story and/or romance.
I know you said you prefer something no-one's worked on, and WWW has done chapter 1, but they pretty much said they weren't going to continue with it (it also looks like there's a good chance the group's about to break up).
On the down side, the reason they said the weren't going to finish it is because they thought it was too difficult and had too much dialog.
Whoops... scratch that... The scans aren't from a Tankoubon.

About half the book is femdom and most of it looks weird and hilarious.
Not many translators can do Fuuga works. Only the very good ones and the ones that want a good challenge, because of the dialogs. But i love the romantic side of his stories. I hope someone pic this up.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a tankouhon (at least, not right now), but it would be great if you could translate Inomaru's story published in Comic Mujin October 2012. It is probably his last work, as it seems to me that he disappeared after that.

ReplyDeleteNope, it's already translated. It has briefly appeared on E-H back in 2011 before being pulled (perhaps the uploader was pissed for the gallery having been sent to the fjords). Here's proof (opening page of chapter 6).

Ohm Takeshi's Gekkan Aikawa Henshuuchou (Monthly Aikawa The Chief Editor) series. Recomet translated the first volume but there are still five more left. Its a really sweet vanilla series...
