08 - The Eccentric Next-door Girl
This story is about a girl who's always cling to her childhood friend. Turns out she's been trying to make a move on him for a while, but he hasn't noticed due to her never really changing her expression.
Edited by Conan.

Also, being a fighter game novice is suffering.
I've decided that this summer I'll finally try to give the genre a chance, so I dusted off Arcana Heart 3 which I bough ~1½ years ago but never played (part of the reason I bought it was to get some references to the Arcana Juice series). Jesus Christ, why isn't there some sort of a tutorial mode?
I got my ass handed to me by the CPU, and I just spent an hour in the training mode trying to pull off a single 13-hit combo, and I didn't get it right even once. This'll be fun once I decide to try my luck online.

Thanks for the chapter.
ReplyDeleteThe fighting genre is a tough one. It takes a lot of practice, patience, and time. To be frank, if you go into it halfheartedly, it'll just wind up being frustrating.
Thanks. Deadpan childhood friend is the hottest type.
ReplyDeleteI second the thing about fighting games. Sometimes I wish they'll make an anime out of it, you have to put eons of free time & effort into it, however at the end of the day you don't get anything in return (it's just not recognized as sports, where training for it or winning it "makes you look cool").
Awesome. Many thanx Yqii and Conan.
ReplyDeleteConsider going online and getting your ass handed to you - the harder the better. Observing the more established and mandatory fundamentals in others is often wiser than reinventing the same wheel, a truth across many genres. Despite developer efforts, more prominent mechanics may be useless while footnote ones are crucial; use the existing "research" of the cumulative player base to know which. You don't need to be a carbon copy of pros, the idea is your personal style will be sooner developed from a higher, functional vantage point.
ReplyDeleteGeneric learning theory, though. Never even seen an Arcana match. Identifying what works well doesn't make it easier to execute. Your mileage may vary.
