It's the (surprise, surprise) third part in a series of four. The story revolves around Combat Maids know as
(SS = Schürze Soldatin = Apron Soldiers) and takes place in Nazi Germany during the Second World War. These Combat Maids serves a master, but if they lose their master, they'll roam around killing aimlessly until someone defeats them in battle and can claim the role of their new master.This part takes place during the Battle of Stalingrad, and it serves as a prequel to the rest of the series. AntiAgingAnon and a translator from /h/ did the other books years ago, but this book was scanned just last summer. With the original translator M.I.A., I agreed to helping AAA finish this series. The whole series is really long—230 pages in total—but it's a really interesting story. This part is just over 60 pages.

For the old parts, the only difference between this version and the original is that a side-character has been renamed to "Wagner" rather than "Ugner." ReplyDeleteAs far as I was told, yes, this is the whole series. The last part came out in 2008, but it just took a while until anyone scanned the third part.

ReplyDeleteThis is loosely based on WW2, and I think most people agree that what happened then wasn't cool. Truth be told, beside the occasion swastika and Russians shooting at Germans, it has very little to do with the actual war.
It's mainly about Germany having high-tech super-soldier maids running wild without their master, and some guy trying to bring them back to where they came from to prevent them from killing.
See symbolism all you want. I don't think it makes any statement besides that people die in war and that's sad. Perhaps in humanizes the people fighting for Germany to some extent; something we might have a problem with since history is anything but neutral.
Wow. I had the other three parts of this series from back when they were originally translated, but it's been so long I never would have imagined the missing chapter would ever be scanned in.

Well, there's a difference between a German fighting for Germany and a nazi. I got sympathy for people in shitty situations even if they find themselves on the wrong side of history. However, that particular war is pretty goddamn black and white; black and grey, tops. Fuck nazis.

ReplyDeleteu remember the band hanzel n greytel? the do like the german uniforms and clothes of that time + they play with german symbolism,but still they aint political. are successful in the us, i think so. in the end its like "war sux but the sound is friggin awesome". its hard to stay neutral but if u can put aside the ww2 this manga is one of the better hentai around, *thank u yqii* for the translation.

the edelweiss scenario is fictional it "just" uses symbolism no the uniforms as a "style factor", not the cruelty that has been done by the ss.

All the text next to German/Russian text used to be in Japanese. I translated the Japanese. I assume the author isn't fluent in all three languages, so the big text is probably Jap->Ger/Rus translations, and the small text is Jap->Eng text. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some inconsistencies.
