Here is a question that maybe someone can answer for me: why is it that there are *tons* of loli manga out there, but the only loli hentai movies I can find are from many years ago? I mean there are what I call "semi-loli" hentai movies, ones where the girl looks like she is maybe in her mid teens, early high school or so. But hentai movies that depicts a girl who is, lets say 8-10 years old seems non-existent. Is it just a case where manga are cheap to produce but hentai movies are more expensive? Just curious.
I'd bet that it's caused by the number of people involved; In mangas you just have to deal with the mangaka and the editor (the assistants basically have no say in the matter), whereas in animation there are dozens of people working on the project, many of them filling an essential role. I doubt there are many female seiyuu willing to voice a loli character getting raped, for example...
In the semi-loli anime you mention, the characters are over the age of consent (IIRC 13 in Japan), so when it's consensual sex with a like-aged boy there's smaller ground for moral objections.
