Chapter 10 from "Tsundero" (the book), and final part of "Tsundero" (the story).
Again, I'm not doing the remaining chapters. I was originally only going to do the first part but then the book came out with a second chapter. So no current plans to finish it.
There's a [v3] of the first chapter in the zip, which underwent some proof-reading.

Megaupload, part 2
Long story this time: I got enough rapid points to maintain my premium account for a while now, so I thought I could try to get a MU account as well since it's gotten pretty popular after it's revamp. It's the same deal as for RS, 10k downloads = 1 free month, but so far I've gotten 0 downloads. Anyone familiar with MU and know if you have to do anything to get the downloads registered?

MU is not update number of download and point regularly, once in 2-3 days or maybe once a week :)
ReplyDeleteGo here for more info about downloads, points and reward in MU
http://www.megaupload.com/?c=rewardrules
Mu only give points out to files under 100MB and is updated every 2 -3 days... and these downloads are only counted from country like USA and UK and a few others... i have so far 89++ point after 2 years since my files are mostly 200+MB anime...
ReplyDeletewell i have had free premium accounts for MU and MP last year for 6 months...damn nice...given to me free i must add
ReplyDeleteAh, figured it was something like that. What a seemingly pointless and annoying system, it's like arena points all over again D:
ReplyDeleteSorry, if this is a weird request...
ReplyDeleteBut can you remove the automatically generated "Possibly related post"?
I really don't find them useful, and they are an eyesore. They are not even related to whatever this post (or all other of your other posts) contains.
Two remarks, YQII :
ReplyDelete- You MUST register yourself in the bonus program, otherwise you risk not to be able to exchange your points for a megaupload account, as if your downloads weren't counted
- sometimes megaupload will take as far as two weeks to update the stats, it's scary, but in the end, they DO count.
Even if the megaupload.com/filemanager page is not updated, the rewards points page is, on its side, updated every 2-3 days.
Good luck getting a premium account :)
Thanks and too bad you are not doing the book
ReplyDeleteI will yet again say that although you are free to translate what you want to translate, I hate the idea of only partially translating something. If you only do these 2 chapters, then someone else has to do the rest of the book, and it might not be the same quality as what you do. *sigh*. Maybe it would be better to commission SaHa to do it, so then the chapters are consistent...
ReplyDeleteOk, I'll admit that last part was mean. But could you please explain why you "cherry pick" so many different works? I could understand if the content of those other chapters was guro or mind break or something nasty, but it seems almost arbitrary as to if you will do the complete work or only a few chapters.
If you were set up to take commissions, I am sure that several of us would PAY YOU to completely translate some stuff, but for whatever reason, you only take "suggestions".
Oh well, it ultimately is your site, I just am confused as to why you don't do whole books.
@ ~_~
ReplyDeleteI never understood the use of that feature myself, but I never know how to disable it. I looked it up and now it's off, as well as that "pop-up-when-hovered-over" function for pictures (I think).
@ Oliver
As far as I can tell, you need a premium account for cash, but just a normal for account exchanges. Is there an extra registration for the bonus program?
@ Zathael
The easy answer for this is in the post itself: "I was originally only going to do the first part...". Despite being part of the same book and being done by the same artist, the chapters are unrelated. I try to finish any story (story != book) I've started, like "Narikiri" in "Choice" or "Tsundero" here, and I believe I have done so in most of the cases.
As for consistency, I've done 2 out of 7 translated chapters. Granted it would be more consistent if I did the remaining 3 (which I might, read on), but it would still be 50-50.
The reason to why I am so picky is simply because I am picky, just because I like the artist doesn't mean that I will translate anything he/she does. I am already doing some things I "don't want to do". F.ex if I were to choose freely I would probably only do ~3 of the remaining 7 chapters of "Ojou-sama wa H ga Osuki", but I'm doing the remaining as a favor (and they're not bad, although not great neither).
I'm currently working on 5 full books. Giving them my full dedication it would still take me 2 months to finish those, that's another reason to why I don't want to start anything new right now.
Even though I don't care much for the remaining stories, I do like the artist so I was thinking about doing the remaining chapters of Tsundero once I'm done with some of the current books, but I didn't want to make any promises yet.
Regarding commissions, single manga commissions is something I doubt will happen, but I have been thinking about projects. A lot of translators have "donor projects" and, if any, that's the most likely kind of commissions I would set up. Full books, you pay x, someone pays y, as soon as one chapter is founded it gets translated.
This is something I will look into later on (read: summer). One of my concerns are whether people will be interested. Commissioners tend to be pretty scary (no offense), a lot of the things I see commissioned are rather freaky and I wonder if there would be a target group for my "I love you! Me too! Let's have consensual sex!" kind of hentai.
Anyway, I will look into the possibilities for me to set this up (I don't live in the U.S. so that's the main thing I'll have to take into consideration), and then I suppose I'll have to see if there's an interest for it.

I think there is. There have been commissions of that type both at tadanohito and saha (yeah, I have commissioned happy stuff myself before), and if you put the right "spin" on it, I think there'd be quite an audience for that.
As for myself, I tend to commission freaky stuff precisely because vanilla hentai has a larger scanslator base and thus is more likely to get translated even if nobody pays for it.
ReplyDelete@Zathael thanks for your post. I wanted to say the same thing, but didn't know how.
ReplyDelete@YQII thanks for understanding Zathaels point and I think many other had the same concern, but we also understand your reasons. On donor projects, I think it's a good idea. Many scanlators (tada, tonigobe, even Saha) have "regular" (harem, consensual, some loli and incest type) hentai as donor projects, which are very successful.
YQII: I respect your decision to translate whatever stories you wish: You seem to understand my desire to see entire books translated. Hopefully, we can sort of meet somewhere in the middle, where you translate what chapters you want, and someone else translates the rest of the book, and everyone is happy. Sorry for my comments before, and again, Thank You for all that you do.
ReplyDeleteI also wholeheartedly support the idea of donor projects. Commissioners can be scary, simply because they are trying to get translated stuff that no one else volunteered to do, and sometimes for very good reasons. But, if you pick and choose projects that you aren't opposed to, but are simply projects that are not high on your list to translate, then the donations can be a form of motivation to translate stuff you otherwise would be indifferent to.
In other words, the donations won't make you translate stuff you hate, but would encourage you to translate stuff that your readers like.
