[Distance] Ochiru Tenshi Vol.01 Ch.08, batch

The final chapter of volume 01. For the last time, this series is most likely dropped. Volume 02 came out 3 ½ years ago, and since then there's been a handful on single chapters, but nothing recent. I would like to finish the second volume as well, but neither me nor Kaya wants to do that now, so don't expect to see it during this decade.

If you come across any indications that this series is being worked on again, let me know.

While I'm dropping numbers, today there's been 1 year and 3 days since Kaya and I decided to work on this! Thanks for all the patience (some of) you have shown during this year. Who knows. Perhaps this time next year we will have a complete second volume of Ochiru Tenshi!

Final disclaimer: I know some people will get pissy about us not completing what we started. In my defense I didn't know there was more than one volume when I started on this. I think I can speak for both of us when I say that this is one thing that I would like to finish... but the same can be said about 20 other books. My situation is pretty different from what it was one year ago. I have less time, a lot more potential projects and I need to prioritize. Currently this is not high on my priority list, and (at least for me) translating 200+ pages is pretty much impossible unless you're motivated to do so.

Ochiru Tenshi Vol.02 won't be a project of mine for a long time. If you can find someone else who is willing to continue working on it, I personally wouldn't mind at all.

For those interested, here's the raw of Volume 02.
And what exists of a potential Volume 03, Chapter 20-23.

  1. What a shame. There are too few translated genderbender hentai manga.

    Thank you, anyway.

  2. I will admit that I am saddened that you will not be continuing the translation of the other Ochiru Tenshi volumes at this time, but I do want to thank you and Kawa for all that you have done with volume 1 and all your other translations. Thanks again for all that you two have done.

  4. Thanks to you and Kaya for all the hard work you put in to this volume. Although it is always kinda disappointing to hear of a project being dropped, I understand and agree with your reasoning.

I am thinking about taking the raws for Vol 2 to someone and funding the first chapter as the start of a donor project. If I do, I will let you and Kaya know.

  5. Many thanx YQII and Kaya. As Zathael said, it's really disappointing to hear of a project being dropped, especially of an awesome mangaka like Distance. I sure wish to see volume 2 someday.

  6. Ahem.. Zathael, Ehud, this decade end on 12.00 pm 31 December 2009, so YQII and Kaya will start working on Ochiru Tenshi Vol 02 on January 2010. Wake up! Look at the link in "decade".

  7. I wonder if there's ever a shota scene with the brother...

  8. @shrike75:

I'm not trying to piss on your parade, but I didn't take the mention of decade that way at all, and I think you are wrong. Ignore the decade comment for a moment, and look at *everything else* YQII said:

    "most likely dropped"
"not high on my priority list"
"translating 200+ pages is pretty much impossible unless you’re motivated to do so."
"Ochiru Tenshi Vol.02 won’t be a project of mine for a long time."

I think you are just desperately trying to believe that YQII is not dropping the project, and are ignoring everything else in favor of the one phrase that gives you hope.

  9. What's really sad IMO is that the author himself seems to have dropped the manga.

  10. First Thanks YQII and Kaya for doing volume one. Too bad you are dropping it but I understand the reasoning.

@Zathael I was also planning on doing it, so if you really decide on it and find a translator let me know and I will also cheap in at least for a chapter or two.

  11. Judging from how popular this book has been I think someone will eventually translate the remaining chapters. Although I doubt anyone will do so within ~25 days. That was mainly what I meant with the decades comment.
I too think it's sad that there's no continuation. I really like the Vol.02+ chapters, and if there was more coming I would continue working on the series.

There's two books that I've planned to start on next, and there will probably pop up more interesting things during the holiday/early 2010, so turning to someone else for the translation is probably the best thing to do if you want to see it anytime soon.

  12. I know everyone else has said it, YQII, but I'm grateful for your hard work. As always, you do an excellent job, and I've enjoyed every release you've put out so far. Keep up the good work, man.

Also, even though I'm sad you're not doing Volume 2, I understand your reasoning. Looking forward to your next project, sir. :D

  13. Thanks. I don't like genderbend really so this being dropped is no problem for me. I still like most of your projects so keep on going- you are doing a great job.

  14. This is sad, but thank you for the hard work!

  15. Thank you too, thank you very much for this, one full volume is already enormous, and it was a great work you did :)

  16. I can understand you well. i'm doing some small translations (eng->russian) and i know that one should be trembling strong, in many places:) when seeing an actual manga to start translating it...
Good work going this far and good luck with your other projects!

  17. yeah i don't like the genderbenders much either so this isn't really a loss to me. don't get me wrong though, i love distance's artwork. bchiku was awesome and my sister was not bad as well although a little excessive at times. it's a shame how the best artists always seem to dangle on some weird wavelength to compromise their awesome art.

i'm sure there are lots of people that appreciate your effort that haven't spoken up though

  18. You guys break my heart, i was in love with this series :~~~

Well thanks for volume 1, i realy hope you guys change your mind about translating volume 2

  19. what i find most disturbing is that this first Vol has been translated by Several different teams.. and has been distributed on many many hentai manga sites... the strange part is however, NO ONE wants to do the 2nd vol =[ ive seen talk about it for a very long time and no one has done anything... the raw's are there.. thier easy to get even... you'd THINK someone who could read the language would at least translate so we can put it together =(

    ReplyDelete
  20. While "has been distributed on many many hentai manga sites" might be true, the statement "first Vol has been translated by Several different teams" isn't. Someone translated the first ~30 pages using magazine scans, but besides that I don't know of any other translation then this one by Kaya and me.

  21. I really like the story of this series, it's not just all hentai, there's a story about giving courage to a boy(the main character) to have more self confidence.
Before I've only read the first chapter on some site, but now I found 1 books in this site. Thanks a lot for translating the first volume of this great story.
it's too bad that you might not translating the continuation of this books, but I can understand your reason very well. That's OK, after all we're all doing this for fun, no need to rush, no one will pressure you, you could do it whenever you felt like it.
It's just that I like your work and your project that you do.
If other people have favorite mangaka, I have favorite scanlator.
    It's YQII.
some times I say thanks with different name
Last but not least, Thank you very much for all your excellent hard work

  22. That's sad. GJ anyway tho ;).

  23. where did you get those few chapters from the third volume? are there more raws that are available that i could find?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think it was old Comic Megastore chapters.

    ReplyDelete
  25. so few good gender reversal stories out there translated, and this one may have the best art out of all, it's my favorite fetish aside from that.

If I ever get enough money I might have to commision it, but untill then I'll just hope someone decides to do it as you so kindly did volume 1.

    Thanks for that = )

  26. Old post but I just found out the chapters for vol "3" now...

I should have some old chapters somewhere too...well except if I'm mixing titles. I remember Tomi knowing about the affair and taking revenge on Sena, since she's angry at her and in love with her. I may remember wrong.

Anyway, it doesn't add up....If vol 1 is 1-8 chapters then vol 2 should be 9-16, right? Meaning vol 3 is 17-24? Could you check if you got those 17-19 laying around somewhere?

It is a pity he didn't end this one when he could have made a nice end like with Micheal keikaku (or whatever it was called)

  27. The tankoubon has no content page and no chapters listed. It's just one long story, so I had to pick a point where it felt like the story allowed for a break and call it a chapter. I guess the content of the first two books were originally released as 19 parts in a magazine.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh I see.
Another reason why I mentioned it was that there's no real flow from the end of vol 2 and then the chapters starting from 20. The end of vol 2 shows the main char coming back in the room after seeing the chicks (whose body he's in) life and why she jumped.
In chapter 20 we don't see anything from the dude who hypnotized the main char...(sorry I don't remember any names) so that was why I based my conclusion on that there's something missing in between.
Still, if you are sure then you must be right. After all you put them up in 2009 when it was still running. I could try checking p2p but running that on a laptop for days is never a good idea.

  29. Well wether you choose to work on Translating this series or not, just know that I appreciate your hard work on doing so. And I know that I speak for others as well

  30. I thought I should post it here, SaHa did translate Vol 2 back in Feb 12' and its relatively easy to find. Now in 14', still no translations of the final four chapters.
